Mellow Yellow

I have been talking about how I love maxi skirts here in my blog. Somehow, it's really hard for me to find good ones here in US.(thinking about the price and the perfect length!) So, what I did was check out some online sellers in the Philippines and voila, I found tons of them that I really like. But, they don't ship here in the US. Good thing was, my mother-in-law went to mother country to get some much needed vacation. Good timing! This yellow maxi's one of my good buys! I don't really wear anything yellow because I am not really into bright colors (I don't think I look good in them especially with my complexion). But, I want to explore more when it comes to fashion, besides the color is just subtle so it worked for me :)

Summer's not over so it's still hot here in Houston (What an understatement! It's freakin' hot!), so the whole ensemble is just too refreshing. My mellow maxi paired with a basic white tee plus right amount of accessories is just perfect! I really like this look! With my long hair and long skirt, I feel like a mermaid, haha! I'm so excited to style and show you my other maxis! Promise, SOON!

Floral Sequel

So, how do you know if someone really love a particular style of clothing? They buy it in different colors! Well, at least that's how I am haha! Proof is on one of my previous blog post where I am wearing the same floral top in blue hue. Besides the obvious reason of its pretty prints, the fabric is just so light that it really helps with this scorching Houston summer heat! Admit it, when you lay your eyes on something really pretty plus you really look good in it (at least that's what you think lol), you tend to go gaga and buy the same exact style in different color. Well, I'm not really sure if it's a big no-no for you but it sure is a big yes-yes for me, BUT I limit myself on having only 2 (do they even make 1 design in more than 2 colors?) of the same print or design unless its a basic like tees or camis then you can have it in all colors. So, are you doing the same? I bet you did it at least once! Right? Right?

(Pretty Pastel Arm Candies from Rue 21 for only $2.50)

Another long gap from my last entry and I really missed sharing my thoughts and outfit with you guys! Anyway, just a quick update, the wedding is in 3 weeks and the stress is building up. There's still a lot of things that needs to get done before the big day, thankfully my once a week visit to the doctor has ended. All my lab test and X-rays came up all negative, thank God! And as promised, I am trying to stay healthy. Hopefully everything will be perfect on my wedding day.

Now on to the outfit. If you'll take a look back at my previous post, I promised to hunt for more maxis to add to my closet. This one I got from wet seal for only $20. I don't usually shop here but I decided to stop by one shopping day and found this pretty skirt. The fabric's really light so it's perfect for this scorching hot weather in Houston. The top I got from Rue 21, again I don't shop here except maybe for accessories but who can ignore this pastel colored chevron printed top that is really pleasing to the eyes and to top that, it's only $5! Not bad eh? Oh I forgot to mention that the back part of it is lace. Lovely!

Somehow, I think of the word SPRING FLING looking at this outfit. Anyway, that's it for this post. I'll try to post more often or at least shorten the gap. I think I'll be able to do that after the wedding so please bear with me ok.

One of my Fave Belts, I love the details on it

So, I have been trying to squeeze in some time to make a quick post this past week but this crazy schedule of mine just became crazier. I'm really glad that I have a little bit of time to make this post. Planning a wedding, going back and forth to the Doctor, & having fever almost everyday is just too much for me. Well, of course, planning a wedding is great for me as it is an important event of my life, I just hope my health is at its greatest at this time but it's not. I think I have taken my health for granted for a very long time.

Just an update, Doctors' have taken my blood samples and x-ray just because the redness of my eyes won't go away (Well, it's started going back to normal right after I did all those. Great!). I just hope I'll be in tip top shape in time for my wedding! Gahhhh it's just frustrating and really stressful. When I am finally clear on all these sickness, I promise to try to be a lot more healthy! Weird but somehow, I gained weight as opposed to losing while I was sick so I need to shed a little bit. I guess I need to push myself and do some exercising! Wish me LUCK!

NOW let's talk about the outfit...

I wore this outfit in one of my Doctor's appointment. The floral top especially its colors at least made me happy and actually helped with all the stress that I was having at that time because my ophthalmologist just can't figure out yet what's going on. I don't usually buy tops with busy prints but since I realized that all my clothes are somehow boring and blah, I decided to go ahead and started purchasing floral tops :) And, as I promise before in my past entries, featured is one of my DIY maxi skirts. It's not as perfect but it'll do, I just need to practice more on sewing maybe after the wedding. Oh, and the arm candies I got from Rue 21, I don't really shop there but just decided to check it out while running some errands one day and I came across these pretty candies. $3 is actually not bad for these beauties! I'll feature the rest of my good finds from Rue on my next post! :)

I am indeed as happy as the color palette of my outfit! April is my favorite month mainly because It's my birthday month, but what happened on April 26, 2013 added to the reasons why I love April. My Husband just proposed! I'm pretty sure I am slightly throwing you off and a bit confused with what I just said, so please click on the link from an online news clip explaining how, what, & why :)

Obviously, after any proposal comes the wedding. Actually, there's been wedding plans already and that's the event that I've been preparing for the past few months and that's what's keeping me busy, not allowing me to squeeze in some time to at least make a blog entry. I'm just too excited to share this wonderful news so I had to make a quick post :) I honestly never thought he'll propose since we're already married but he definitely surprised me that Friday night and he did it in a very special way. And, I would like to share to you how he did it. I know some people keep the proposal private but I would like to show you guys the effort my husband put into the whole thing just to make me happy and I am proud of him!    I was not a fan of any animal prints, maybe because I thought that it's too much and I can't actually pull it off or maybe "SEXY" comes to mind when I think of it and I never really associated myself with that word. I just started experimenting with animal prints when I interned at a fashion house when I was in college. The designer, Gayla Bentley, really love these prints and uses them in some of her designs. She thought me that Animal prints can be sophisticated as well, depending on how you present it. Well come to think of it, everything just depends on how you wear pieces of clothing. Now I am not afraid of these prints because I can say that I know how to work around it already although I have yet to try other ones like maybe Zebra prints? I guess some minor shopping damages should be done so I can try it :)
